Stephen La Porta, multi-percussionist and drummer, plays and records a variety of musical styles...
encompassing latin, jazz, latin-jazz, r&b, funk, blues, pop, rock, world, and soul. His current performance
and recording projects include: "Bob Falstein and Delish", "The Ramana Vieira Ensemble", "Tres Mojo".
"Blue Bossa", "Issac Ho Trio, "Soul, Rhythm, and Groove", "Christian City Church", "East Bay Mud", and
"Joti". Among the artists he previously performed or recorded with were: "Krya, "LZ Phoenix", "LZ Love",
"Deborah Winters", "Sheli Nan", "Greg Goodman", "Jump Up Steel Band", "All Star Jukebox", "Bautista",
"Emerge", "Dwaine Spurling", "Zydeco Slim", "Dana Hubbard", "Martin Dory Group", "Mucho Axe", "Otta
Nowhere", "Carmen Milagro", "Gina Harris", and "Victoria Phillips".

Some of the major venues he has performed at include: Warfield Theatre, the Cow Palace, Concord
Pavilion, Shoreline Amphitheater, Great American Music Hall, The Sweetwater, The Catalyst, San
Francisco Civic Center Main Stage, Regency Theatre, Claremont Hotel, Fairmont Hotel, Slims, Biscuits
and Blues, Aragon Theatre, West Side Theatre, Larkspur Theatre Cafe, and so on. Steve is proud to
endorse the following equipment makers: Pearl Percussion, Sol Percussion congas, Peter Englehart
Percussion, JCR Percussion, and Aquarian drum heads. Steve is fortunate to study drums and
percussion with Chuck Brown, Michael Spiro, and Alan Hall. Originally, from Chicago, Illinois, Steve
received his B.A from U.C. Berkeley.

Marcie Brown
Marcie Brown is a world renown cellist.She has performed with street musicians upon the dingy grey
pavements of New York City. She has performed beside well-trained conservatory musicians in well-lit
and well attended symphonic halls. She has mingled with musicians from Brazil, India, Trinidad, Jamaica,
Guatemala, Africa and Italian gypsies. She has performed with Lucianno Pavoratti, Andrea Bocelli, Dizzy
Gillespie, Itzak Perlman, and Ray Charles. She has been a member of the Cirque du Soleil. The music that
she brings to us is a combination of all of these experiences: broad, deep, rich and soulful.

John Douglas
Multi-instrumentalist (saxes, flute, clarinet) John Douglas has perform with such Jazz luminaries as Joe
Williams, Jon Faddis, Louie Bellson, Tom Scott, and many others.  He has performed at venues such as
the Monterey Jazz Festival.  Besides performing with Steve Albini John performs in the Cuban salsa
group Calle 49 and the Berkley Jazz School Big Band.   John is also an authority on Brazilian music.   He
is an energetic and playful soloist, always exciting.
